Goal

• To contribute to enabling environment for inclusive democracy and citizens participation by all sections of Madheshi Community, particularly women and socially excluded in decision-making processes in Nepal

Objectives

• Increased understanding and capacity of Madhesis community particularly women and socially excluded groups to participate in informed debate/interaction regarding federal structure
• Networking with alliances/networks/ federations for lobbying with policy makers and decision makers for drafting inclusive constitution to represent Madhesis in democratic processes.
  

Target Group

Madhesi Communities, especially women and socially excluded groups from the Eastern Development Region: Udayapur, Morang and Sunsari and the Central Development Region: Sarlahi, Dhanusha and Parsa will be the major target groups of the project and the political parties, CSOs, academicians and professionals will be other stakeholders.

• Eastern Development Region - Udayapur, Morang, and Sunsari
• Central Development Region - Sarlahi, Dhanusha, and Parsa

Achievements

• Madhesi issues has been recognized as a national issue
• Increased representations of Madhesi in Constituent Assembly
