A
socio-economic stratification and a mechanism of hierarchy as symbols
of social status have been institutionalized in the country. Consequently,
the social relations with the poor, women, ethnic groups, Marginalized
terai Madhise and Dalits have been discriminated and isolated. As
a result they have been economically, socially and politically excluded
despite the constitutional rights of equality
The Digo Samajik Bikas Kendra (Center
for Sustainable Social Development) also known as
CSSD is a non-profit, non-government
organization, which was established with the vision of creating
a sustainable just society. Recognizing the existence of extreme
social discrimination, mass poverty and the conflict situation of
the region it was decided to establish a regional organization for
social, political and economic empowerment of the disadvantaged
groups (DAGs). The view is that a regional organization can better
serve and address the regional issues in a more integrated manner
with effective interventions for sustainable social development
